Have a great week! Tamara

Tuesday June 24, 2003 <oops ...==:O here's the post for last Tuesday, sorry for the delay>

Talking with Taleweaver
I've been giving some thought to plagiarism lately. Not commiting it, oh no, but just giving thought to how often it's been an issue lately. At least two separate occasions come to mind. One was quieter than the other, but was still just as wrong.
Plagiarism is more than just wrong. It's sad. Sometimes it's unintentional and sometimes the writer knows exactly what they are doing. It's wrong, it's sad and it doesn't do a thing for anyone's reputation or career.
A word of advice to all you new authors out there... if it's not yours, don't use the words without permission. If you ask permission, but the other party says "no"; respect their wishes. Or you could find yourself in court!
I'll step down from this soapbox now and direct your attention to the fiction.

Hello to everyone. It is incredibly hot here and isn't it just right that our air conditioning should go on the blink! One of those Murphy's Law things. Here are a couple new ones to enjoy. Since Wednesdays seem to be a slow day, have decided to try including an older one for you to check out each week too. This week's is "Gun Shy" by Lorelei. This is the story of Officer Dez Reilly and rookie Jaylynn Savage. This has a little of everything in it - action, bad guys, funny moments, and of course love. Give it a try. There is also a sequel to enjoy if you can't bear to see it end. See you next week. Terry

Okay, the omens are favorable for everyone having a good week. Not only has Melissa Good's Moving Target been updated but you can also read a new chapter from Vertigo's Hidden Desires. And on a more serious note, head over to the Academy of Bards if you'd like more information on donating to the memorial fund for Carole Giorgio's daughter, Nicole. Tamara

This is an old posting from August 2000, but I liked it so well that I'm on my second time through it. It also has a sequel to enjoy. If you haven't read this yet, take a peek. Terry

Talking with Taleweaver

I want to first take the time to thank everyone who mailed me with comments and thoughts on last week's little rant. I love getting mail from you guys, so keep it up! I tried to answer everyone, but if I forgot someone, please don't take it personally. Sometimes the best shot I have at my mail is a minute here and a minute there. Those of you with kids will understand. Those of you who have not yet been blessed ... don't rush. I'm not sure if one is ever truly ready to be a parent. With all the abductions in the news and now a rash of attempted abductions only an hour away from my own town, I'm keeping a closer eye on my kids.
There was once a little boy who lived in Toronto. His name was Randal Dooley. He was killed by the very people that were responsible for him. (See here for more information.) His death was not in vain. It breaks my heart to hear stories like Randal's, and ones like Rilya Wilson's, and the many other children who are not tucked in tonight, safe and warm.
I could go on about this forever, but I won't. If you have children hug them tight and teach them everything they need to know to be safe.
Send me your thoughts!

So grab a cup of coffee and settle in to hear about Trace and her friends as well as a few new additions to the "family". This is a part of a series so it would probably be best if you started at the beginning with Summer of Need, Meanwhile Back at the Ranch and Winter of Discontent. Have fun and don't try this stuff at home.

Talking with Taleweaver

As I write this, my partner is watching the news behind me. It's gotten so depressing! Up here in Ontario, Canada we have heard more than our share of SARS news, and no sooner did all that die down, now we have mad cow to contend with! Between our Prime Minister driving our country's reputation down, SARS and mad cow disease...sometimes I want to be American. Sigh. But, there is good news from my homefront. I have been enjoying my new job and have recently discovered I'm intended for the manager position! Wohoo! My book is selling well, so thanks to all of you who have written and ordered. Every day, I am more thankful for my family, my good fortune and most especially my health. I've just gotten an email telling me that my good friend Lori Lake has a nasty stomach bug. Poor Lori. How have you been? Well, on with the fiction!

enCHANTations by Mystic Maiden

Hello everyone! Yes, Mystic Maiden lives. I recently had LASIK done and I'm here to sing it's praises! I now have 20/15 vision for just a little time in what looks like a dentists chair, a weeks worth of medical drops and some silly goggles to sleep in but...that's all! Of course it also came with a pretty price tag but well worth the money!
Raven and I decided this weekend that I needed to enjoy my new eyes with a trip to the Butterfly Pavilion here in Denver. I've put together a page of some of our pictures. ENJOY! Trip to The Denver Butterfly Pavilion
