Musings by By Xanadu

Hello, hello, hello! How goes it? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a fine time, and Santa was extra good to me. Gee, guess I must have been an especially good girl this year. ; )

Anyway, so it's New Year's Eve, and here in Colorado we have exactly 5 hours and 41 minutes until 2003. Can you believe that 2003 is here already? Just today my partner, who is a reporter, had to go take a picture and do a short story on a woman who turned 101 today. If you think about it, she, at over a hundred, was still born in the 1900s. I don't know, that's just amazing to me, when I, who was born in 1976, yes, I am 26, have always known 100 years or more to be the 1800s at least. Does this make sense? My partner made fun of me for this observation, so hopefully one of you out there can understand.

That said, what say you I bring on the fiction? Enjoy it, and guys, yes feed the bards, but more importantly, please be careful out there tonight as you rock the new year in. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Hello, gang! I'm so pleased to be able to send out the Christmas post. I wish each and every one of you around the globe reading this the most wonderful of holidays. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, I wish you a wonderful day. I hope Santa is kind, and you don't over-stuff yourself too badly. ; ) I know I intend to do just that.

So, with that, on with the fiction! Enjoy, and guys, write the bards, eh? Even if just in the spirit of Christmas, give them a little gift back for the gift they give to you.

    Raven's Ravings Raven

    Hi there folks!

Wishing you all a stress free shopping experience... Ha, but hey I tried ;)

I must tell you all that Christmas has come early in the fact that the Unbroken Series Season Two has just begun and tomorrow morning you will be able to see the latest update! I highly recommend this series and am thrilled to have these wonderful characters back for more fun!

I have a special treat for you tonight as we have been honored from a ramble from Brooke and Sam !

So here is Sam and Brooke via our great Ramble Web Cam.. Take it away girls!

“Oh, Sa-a-am…"Brooke sang out. "I think Raven has something she wants us to do for her." She strolled over to the couch and sat down. Leaning forward, she grabbed a stack of mail off the coffee table.

"Raven…RAVEN!" Sam came running into the room. "You mean she wants us to RAMBLE?"

"Ramble or rumble...I'm not too sure which one."

"Oh, Ramble, please." Sam took a seat next to her wife. "I like her Rambles. But why us? Didn't she want KD and Carrie to do this?"

Brooke shrugged her shoulders and looked over to Sam. "Well...yeah, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind us being here instead." She flipped through the stack of mail nonchalantly. "I think it was awfully nice of KD and Carrie to let us do this for them."

"Yeah it is, Brooke." Sam leaned on her wife's shoulder. "It's not everyday that so many people hit your site and crash it trying to find out what's going on." Sam chuckled, "Who would have thought when they started writing it, that could happen? I think that the bards would like to say, thank you, don't you think?"

Brooke looked at the time and date on her watch. "Actually, Darlin', the site crashed since Eddie announced it what...on December 7th?"

"December 7th?" Sam thought back for a moment. "Where were we?" She sat up somewhat annoyed. "And why didn't we know about this?"

"Calm down, Sam." Brooke rubbed Sam's back soothingly. "KD and Carrie are trying right now to find another host site with more bandwidth. Besides, I think we were a little…" Brooke's eyes twinkled as she gazed into Sam's, "…preoccupied at the time."

"Preoccupied? Honey we were..." Green eyes widened in realization just before a broad smile illuminated Sam's face. "Oh, that? Well, we are newlyweds."

"That we are, Darlin'." She placed the stack of mail down on the coffee table and took the first letter from the top. "Okay…" Brooke opened it and quickly scanned through it for content. "Question number one: Are the writers planning on having Season 1 published?"

"That answer would be…" Sam looked over to Brooke for confirmation before answering. "Yes, they are thinking about it and it is being looked into as we speak." Sam settled back into her place on Brooke's shoulder. "Whew, that was easy."

Brooke discarded the letter off to the side of the looming pile. Leaning into her wife's ear she whispered, "You know that KD is in the process of getting THAT HEALING TOUCH Series of hers published, right?"

"Oh yeah…" Sam sat up and smacked her forehead with the heel of her hand. "How can we forget about that?" She looked rather sheepishly over at Brooke. "You know…I thought something was up by that smile on her face. And isn't Carrie's band about…" Sam held her thumb and forefinger only a hair's breadth apart for Brooke to see, "…this close to getting signed?" She watched as her wife's dark head nodded next to her. "Wow, Brooke, it looks like both our bards are moving up in the world of creativity."

"They're from the same mold, Darlin', unbroken, of course. What else would you expect?" Brooke leaned forward and grabbed another letter from out of the middle of the stack this time and opened it. "Okay, here's question number two: Is C.C. still single?" Brooke began to laugh and shook her head in disbelief. "Well…yes, she is single and doing great, by the way. Sam and I both know that she does seem to be everyone's favorite character, goofball that she is." Brooke smirked as she closed her eyes for a second then took in a deep breath. "But, we love her too." "Yeah, if it wasn't for her," Sam looked over at Brooke and smiled. "You wouldn't have been invited to our wedding."

“Oh no,” Brooke shook a finger in Sam's direction as she replied. "You mean that you wouldn't have been invited to our wedding."

"Good point," Sam nodded in agreement. "Actually, none of us would have been there."

"You're definitely right. Maybe C.C. can do some things right."

Sam patted her wife's hand as she looked to the stack of mail in front of them. "You know, while I'm thinking of it, we want the readers to know how much we appreciate everyone's understanding and support while waiting for the premiere of UNBROKEN Season Two. It really means a lot to us, the authors and everyone else involved, that you have been enjoying our tale. Your letters of encouragement, your feedings of the bards, were a big help to KD and Carrie."

Brooke put down the letter that she was reading and looked up. "Hmm…Speaking of the authors again, what about the 2003 Orlando BardCon? Do you think we can get them to attend this year? Maybe we could tag along?"

"BARDCON? ORLANDO?" Sam's face became animated with delight. "Yes…they're going but only if we're allowed to go too. I've always wanted to see that place. Hey," she grabbed onto Brooke's arm and shook it excitedly. "We could see the fans…get a glimpse of their lives if only for a day or two."

"We're going, Sam…somehow, someway, I bet we can get it worked into the story line.” Brooke became excited with an idea. “Maybe you could get Line of Fire a gig in Orlando on their virgin concert tour"

“Hmm…I do have to put that tour together soon.” Sam pondered the thought.

“I know you’ll work it in, even if you have to keep bugging KD and Carrie.” Brooke looked out into the vastness of the Internet. Her blue eyes staring right at the readers, beckoning them into her soul. "So, if any of you are going, be sure to look for us."

"Brooke," Sam tapped on her wife's shoulder. "You know what that does to some of our readers. Be nice."

"Turns them on, eh?" Dark brows twitched seductively.

"Do I have to remind you that we're married?" Sam placed a balled up left hand under her chin, allowing both her engagement ring and wedding band to be highly visible. "Down girl, before I have to get that leather out."

Caught off guard, Brooke gagged back a single word, "Wha-a-a-at?" She blinked, then blinked again as she stared into the innocent looking face seated next to her. Her concentration now shot, she tossed back the letter that she had in her grasp. Brooke slapped both hands on her thighs and leaned forward anxiously. "So...is this good enough? Should we turn it back over to Raven? I'm sure she has plenty of new fiction for everyone to read." Brooke looked over to Sam, "And I have... you know... that 'thing' I wanted to discuss with you."

"Thing?" Sam thought for a moment, then a coy look came across her face. "Oh that thing. Yeah, I think this is enough of a ramble for even the most dedicated of our fans." Sam looked directly into the webcam that sat on top of the laptop computer screen across the room. "And just for the record," she smiled politely. "I hope that one of the authors saved this because I forgot to." Sam wrinkled up her nose as a warming blush of embarrassment colored her face. "Anyway, thanks for reading and we'll see you in the next installment of UNBROKEN."

Brooke leaned forward, intent on concluding today's ramble. "Thanks for reading everybody. Now, just remember, if you can't get on the Anti-Zero site, join our UnbrokenMold Yahoo Group and you can get the installments there." She shifted her weight forward, totally unaware that Sam was no longer sitting next to her. "Thanks to Raven for letting us ramble. You made my wife very happy. I hope you know that." Brooke smiled, "I'm eternally grateful. Hey," Brooke jumped up from the couch, throwing her right arm up in the air and holding her fingers in a fist. "Beyond Uber ROCKS! And so do all of you. Rock On!" Brooke smiled broadly. “That’s a wrap.” She crossed the room and placed the lens cap back onto the webcam.

Silence with no visual coming across the Internet.

"Okay Sam, now you're all mine." There is the sound of a soft clap and hands rubbing together. "Hey, come back here. Where ya' going, Darlin'?"

"Brooke, behave.” The sound of giggles cross the Internet followed by the noise of Sam clearing her throat. “I said…BEHAVE."

The sound of muffled laughter is punctuated by an occasional purring sound.

"Oh, never mind what I said. Mmm…I like that."

    ……………………

Hey, all! How are ya? Doing grrrrreat here. Been so busy, but alas, I'm here with a new part of my story to prove it. : D Did you know that people can get pretty darn cranky when it comes to the obituary of their dearly departed loved one? Man, I had no friggin' idea people could be so vicious! See, this is jsut one of my millions of duties at work, now. I handle all obits and funeral notices. I mean, heck, you'd think the guy had won the presidencey, not died! Or passed away, or found greener pastures, or met his maker, or hopped on a cloud. (All of which I've seen on the obits that come in.) My editor has assured me that if I say anything other than the dude died, I'm fired. lol But, all in all it's good work, and it keeps me busy.

Okay, that's about all for tonight, kids. I'm outta here; gotta go eat some dinner. Anyway, so enjoy the stories, and write to them there bards, okay? Enjoy!!!
